best of the anthropologie summer sale

Thursday, June 29, 2017

I feel like the location of my Anthropologie is a pretty good summation of our relationship: it's a bit out of the way, but not too much; meaning, it's got to be an intentional trip out there and it always feels like a treat. My mom is a big fan of Anthro and took me there a lot when I was in junior high and high school but I don't think I was quite ready for its chicness (plus those prices!). Now that I'm older I'm definitely looking for and appreciating their pieces. Again, the prices make it hard to shop as much as I'd like to but that's why I've rounded up my favorite pieces from their summer sale! Warning: there are a lot!

Top: Topshop (on sale!) / Jeans: Topshop / Belt: H&M / Earrings: Madewell
Shoes: Moorea Seal (similar) / Bag: Need Supply Co. (in blue, similar) / Sunglasses: Karen Walker

Happy Monday, friends! It's pretty happy for me because I had a hot fudge sundae for lunch and I'm planning on shopping through dinner...I said it was happy, not healthy, okay.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to show this top on here! I'd had my eye on it for ages and of course snagged it up literally like two days before it went on sale. Whatever, it's a great top and goes perfectly with my new pink mules. I'm definitely bringing both of these pieces with me on vacation - in two weeks, I'll be in London with Sarah!! Whoo! Until then, I'll be shopping for all the nonexistent space in my suitcase.

Thanks for reading! Hope your Monday brings you ice cream!!

Best of Bedding

Daniella Floral Comforter / Casablanca Duvet /  Speckle Jersey Comforter /
Tasseled Deco Fan Duvet / Wonky Grid Comforter / Rivulets Quilt /
Dotty Daisy Coverlet / Anthropologie Duvet / Lillian Floral Duvet /

When it comes to most anything besides clothes and knick knacks (and snacks), I generally think that if I already have it, I don't need a new one. Examples: my carpet has lipstick stains, nail polish stains, and some doggie accidents all over it. I'd had my last computer for about six years. My dresser is the same from when I was in junior high. And now coming to the point: my bedding. I lived most of my life sleeping under quilts until I got to college and discovered the wonder that is a comforter. They make you warm! They make you cool! They're easy to fold! They come in cute patterns! And so now I'm two years out of college with the same comforter that I took all the way in its own suitcase to England (we're in a serious relationship). Now the poor thing is threadbare and ripped down the middle. Like I said, I'm slow to change but then I decided to search for cute bedding and...yep, now I'm sold. And don't even get me started on the pillows.

the best jumpsuit ever

Jumpsuit: Madewell (via Poshmark) / Top: Madewell / Shoes: Aldo /
Bag: J.W. Anderson / Sunglasses: Karen Walker / Earrings: gift

Or at least I think so, seeing how I've worn it multiple times a week since I got it (at a steal from Poshmark!). I actually had my eye on this Madewell jumpsuit after I tried it on in the store but (regrettably) passed on it. Unfortunately now it's on backorder and so I decided that a chambray jumpsuit was just as good. Verdict: it definitely is. It is so comfy and goes with just about everything. I mean, I could be looking totally clownish in it but I don't even care because it's that comfy. And fun!! Okay! Sometimes I feel like revising that Henry David Thoreau quote, "go confidently in the direction of your dreams," to "go confidently wear that outfit of your dreams." Or, more appropriately in this case, go confidently wear that jumpsuit of your dreams.

Also, just a girl, standing in front of a Bob's Burgers sign, showing it how much she loves it.

Summer Red-y with Zaful

Monday, June 12, 2017

Dress (worn as top): c/o Zaful / Jeans: Topshop / Heels: Zara (old, similar) /
Bag: Vintage / Sunglasses: Karen Walker / Earrings: BaubleBar

Sure, there's the LBD and summer whites, but red is surely up there in the canon of color classics, right? At least I think it should be. You may remember I rounded up some of my favorite pieces from Zaful a few weeks ago. I first heard of Zaful when another beautiful blogger I follow, Sunita, wore some outfits from them on her blog. She wore this super chic military-inspired coat and then looked drop-dead-gorgeous in this blue number! So when Zaful reached out to me I was excited to see what their newer collection was like. Zaful's actually celebrating their third birthday, for which they have fun little confetti on their site right now!

I always love when a shopping site provides themes or easy-to-search features. Zaful does this in a bunch of ways - search by color, material, or destination (like going to the seaside!). I picked out this floral number from their selection of red dresses. I've been getting more and more into wrap dresses lately and I'm also just another sucker for a floral print. If florals or wrap dresses aren't your thing, might I suggest some seasonally appropriate gingham? Or a midi dress?

This dress has asymmetrical layers which were a bit hard to figure out - I ended up wearing it as a top over some jeans which I think turned out nicely! Keep in mind your measurements when ordering from Zaful, by the way - I'm 5'4 and wearing a L. The tie waist makes it easy to adjust to your waist size and I love the collar detail. I will say however that it took several weeks for my package to arrive, so just keep that in mind!

Want to try out some of Zaful's pieces for yourself? Take a look at their huge selection on their site and take 15% at checkout with the code ZFCB01!

I received this dress as a gift from Zaful. All opinions are totally my own! Thank you for supporting the brands that support this blog.

summer shoes

Wednesday, June 7, 2017

I've been on a shoes kick lately. I recently made some extra cash selling my clothes on Poshmark and wanted to treat myself to some new summer duds. I looked at a bunch of lovely sundresses before deciding on those soft pink mules up there. I'd been wanting some mules for a while now and when Nicole bought these babies and recommended them, I snapped up the last pair in my size!

I'll tell ya, I am not a fan of summer dressing. I hate hot weather and I'd much rather bundle up in a chic coat than bear it all in booty shorts (not that I'd ever wear booty shorts, but still). Dresses are great and all but then it's like, legs, meet chafing. And so when I'm already feeling kinda low in summer garb, I know I want my shoes to be both comfortable and fabulous. I think the pairs I've rounded up here may fit the bill! What kinds of shoes are you looking to buy for summer?

Top: Zara / Jeans: Topshop / Shoes: Swedish HasbeensEarrings: Madewell
Bag: Pour la Victoire (similar, similar) / Barrette: Similar / Sunglasses: Karen Walker

Okay I love this shirt besides the obvious (dogs!!!) - but also because it's totally something I would have worn as a kid, too. And I fully support making clothes that our inner kids would wear. I see so many of the little ones that I work with wearing the most fun outfits! Striped leggings with sparkly shoes, a tiara just because, frills and polka dots and all of the colors! They're out their living their life in comfy cool clothes and I want back in, okay? While everyone else can wear those 90s trends like chokers and brown lipstick I'll be happily going back to the 90s of my youth with overalls and fun patterns and maybe even onesies (okay not onesies).
