Top: Zara (love this and this) / Jeans: Topshop / Shoes: Zara (similar, similar) /
Bag: Ted Baker (similar, under $100) / Sunglasses: Karen Walker

A quick little throwback to the beginning of summer right as it was ending. I don't think I ever featured this Zara blouse or shoes on here, which were I pretty much wore all summer long. I'm on the hunt now for a similar blouse that is just as comfortable and easy to pair with anything for the fall season.

I'm off to Montana tomorrow (!) where I'll really be immersed in fall, and even winter...! Follow me on Instagram to see what all I get up to (mainly flannel and horses, I'm hoping).

  • Look of the Week: I am loving the fall tones of Ahn's outfit. And how comfy and breezy it looks!
  • Outfit Envy: I think that Olivia might just be my favorite blogger. And this back-to-school look she put together with Topshop? Oh man, I want everything!
  • Instagram of the Week: Oh my how my friend Sarah's Instagram took me back! I don't think I'm ever not missing my time in Exeter, but this one hit me hard.
  • This Time Last Year: Apparently it was also pretty warm into late September last year, as I was rocking this hot-weather-appropriate romper in Brooklyn!
  • What I'm Wishlisting: How killer are these ASOS boots? I have no idea what I would wear them with, but I'm totally digging them.

still summer?

Dress: Banana Republic (on sale! size down) / Shoes: Zara (similar, similar) /
Bag: Zara (similar) / Sunglasses: Karen Walker / Lipstick: Topshop "

So today, September 22nd, is the fall equinox. It is officially the start of fall according to science, the solar system, the Mayans and maybe the Druids too...

So why is still so dang hot??

I'm not a fan. Whoever is daring to mess with science and the Mayans needs to chill out. Literally. There needs to be some fall weather happening right now. Sure, I get to wear this cute summer dress one more time but really, it's time for a change.

Hooray! Although it's almost Monday, I can't imagine the upcoming week being as busy as the one I just had. So here's to a fresh new start! And a fresh new batch of stuff for a round-up!

  • Look of the Week: Ok but how chic does Mal look in this lace ensemble? I'm a sucker for lace and high necks and although I'd never have the courage to pull of this piece's cropped length and see-through material, I'm in love with how Mal styled it. Plus that mini Chloé bag? Yes please!
  • Blog I've Started Following: I did start following Daphné earlier in the summer, becoming totally smitten with her warm weather looks, but now I can't wait too see what she wears for fall. Plus it's always fun to follow French fashion blogs because, one, duh, French style is le plus parfait, and two, I get to practice my French!
  • Instagram of the Week: Stacy London supporting Feminist Fight Club, supporting local girl gangs, and so I support all of this.
  • What I'm Reading: My friends (and our moms!) have started a monthly book club! We just finished The Light Between Oceans which, tbh, I did not love, but I'm super excited for our next pick, The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead, which of course everyone is talking about.
  • Closet of the Week: A new lil feature! I'm not-even-a-little-lowkey obsessed with Poshmark so I thought I'd start linking to my favorite finds on there. Edith's closet is a jewelry lover's dream, where you'll find some brands like J.Crew and Anthropologie but also her own gorgeous designs! ('s a link to my closet, wink wink.)
  • What I'm Wishlisting: Speaking of J.Crew, I'm thinking I need this not-so-basic sweater for fall. I mean it's on sale, soooo...

I'm sure you all know by now how much I love fall. Specifically fall clothes. Specifically fall clothes that are sweaters. And while I already have a closet spilling out with sweaters (literally), I can't help but continue to browse online for more. So naturally when StyleWe asked me to check out their new fall collection, I clicked my way over to Knitwear immediately. Their options are almost overwhelming and they're certainly have any style you're searching for, but I decided to round up the best of the bunch in my favorite styles, all under $50! (Make sure you check the sizing information! Most sizes I've found were not in typical US sizing.)

Just because you're wearing a sweater doesn't mean you can't be glam. Pair your bright red sweater with classic pieces in black, gold, and of course, more red. Take a cue from the streets of Paris (then and now), Audrey Hepburn's iconic everything, and Barbara Kruger's postmodern mantra for every fashion-lover.

Yellow Crew Neck Floral Sweater ($37)

If Audrey is our "classic" icon then I say that Grace Kelly is our "chic" one. Her elegant, never-a-hair-out-of-place look can be achieved with statement pieces, like gold jewelry or this stunning lace sweater. Basically whatever it is, it should make you feel royal.

I think this sweater might be my favorite of the bunch. It's just so fall, and also very Madewell, but for half the price. Consider this one your go-to with everything this season: wear with cut-off jeans and heeled boots, over a dress, or for stomping around in the pumpkin patch.

Casual Color-Block Sweater ($43)

I have no doubt that despite the colder temperatures that are coming, the ever-popular athleisure trend will be here to stay. In fact, why not add the emphasis on leisure get even more comfy in your track pants and matching I'm-so-chill sweater?

Which style are you itching to try for the new season? Or maybe you should just go for all of them...

xx Julia

  • Look of the Week: I really haven't been a fan of the off-the-shoulder trend but Juliette makes it look ultra cool and chic. I love how she's played with the proportions of the top and her hat! Plus that pop of blue in her bag (and nails!) is way too fun.

  • Blog I've Started Following: I don't exactly remember when I started following Alina, but I was hooked immediately. Look at this fall-ready realness. Yes.
  • What I'm Listening To: Rooney was one of my first favorite bands and I was pretty bummed when they took a break from making music for a while. But they're back with a new album that gets back to their California roots. "My Heart Beats 4 U" is my top pick, but "Come On Baby" and "Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow" are super great too.

  • What I'm Wishlisting: I am loving this delicately dotted blouse by Ann Taylor. The bell sleeves are of course super in right now (one 70s trend I can get behind) but I like that this piece is a bit more subtle.
Hope you're all having a great weekend so far!

Jacket: Just Female (on sale, cheaper style here) / Top: Madewell (sold out, here in a dress) /
Belt: J.Crew / Skirt: Madewell (similar, similar) / Boots: Topshop

Finally! More posts from my travels (it hasn't been over a month or anything...) I wore this getup to one of our "fancy dinner" nights and I was beyond excited to finally get to wear my new suede jacket. I'd tried to wear it twice before in the trip but each time it drizzled just enough for me to freak out and race back to the room to change. But the late evening weather cooperated with me as I snapped these photos on the bridge right by our hotel.

I always think that packing for a trip really gives you insight into your closet. For example, I had an unbalanced suitcase for this one - slightly too many "fancy clothes" and certainly not enough "prepare to get muddy clothes" which definitely says a lot about my wardrobe as a whole. This trip even more cemented the fact that I need more solid everyday tees and shoes that could stand to get a little dirty. Not that I need more things to shop for, but it's always good to have a focus!

P.S. I don't actually like chocolate or strawberry ice cream separately or together, but I am all over their color combination!

Fossil bag - STYLE ME GRASIE
  • Look of the Week: Just a head's up that you're going to see a lot of Grasie on these notes...I'm low-key obsessed with every outfit she puts together. This pre-fall look is basically what I'm living in now, too.
  • Blog I've Started Following: I just started following Blake and totally regretting now doing so sooner. I mean - she's drop-dead gorgeous???? And she brings something so fresh and original amongst the other fashion bloggers on my feed. Yas.
  • Instagram of the Week: Not only is this just a regularly aesthetically pleasing Insta flatlay, but it also happens to be representing something great! My friend Katie's mom just launched her own natural skincare line, and it's already getting lots of love from Nylon and Allure. I'm itching to try it out myself based on the packaging design alone! Check out OY-L products here.

  • What I'm Wishlisting: I saw this dress from ASOS on Devon's blog and it's giving off all the right floral fall vibes. Need. It. Now!

  • What I'm Watching: I just started watching Crazy Ex-Girlfriend on Netflix. Not quite sure how I feel about it yet - the digs at the patriarchy are amazing, the musical numbers can sometimes be entertaining, and the second-hand embarrassment is definitely always there.
  • What I've Been Looking At: This picture of Andrew Garfield eating a banana half-naked in a bathtub. That is all. Happy weekend.
