three perfect days in paris

Thursday, March 31, 2016

Hi all! I know you're well aware that Paris has been the theme here on the blog as of late, but I haven't actually put together a guide on it til just now! My friend Sarah kindly asked me to guest post on her blog while she's off traveling. So if you would like to take a nosey at my idea of three days of perfection in Pairs... head on over!

Hi everyone! And just like that, we're back in Paris. Also just like that, I've changed up my look - short hair, new glasses, getting crazy with the ear crawlers...change is good, ya know? Anyway.

I had the amazing chance to spend the last 10 days traveling all over the north of France by boat. The first three days were spent in - you guessed it - Paris. Obviously it's a city that's loved the world over but it's quickly becoming a particular favorite of mine. I always thought I could live in London pretty readily but I think I'd be just as happy in Paris! I was surprised at how well my French kept up - well, we'd better not ask all the actual French people I spoke to about that.

Our first stop was on the left bank of the Seine, to the v famous Shakespeare and Company. It is definitely charming in the way that only bookstores can be. Crowded and overpacked with stairs that you could hardly move on but there were lovely little nooks everywhere. The love of reading was just infused in that place. I picked up a tote bag and the love poems of Pablo Neruda. Oh and of course I had to wear my most very French outfit for the first day of the trip. You're probably going to see me in these shoes for a good long while - they are so utterly adorable and not too bad for walking! Okay well I did end up buying three pairs of shoes when the blisters got too much. They were a, uh, practical purchase? When in Paris...

Hope everyone had a good start to your week! Thanks for reading.

Super quick post as I'm cruising around France right now! You can bet I'm keeping up this pastel look while I'm jetsetting.

Happy Friday!

GIRLS WITH GLASSES

Tuesday, March 22, 2016

Hi all! If your life is anything like mine, then you're hungry all the time happily confused that it's spring break!

Thought I'd take a quick break from spamming you all with my mug (though let's be real here, no shame) and take a nosey into the other lovely ladies who have sported some killer eyewear over the years. Partly this is inspired by the honor of being featured on Girls With Glasses on their "Fashion Friday" post! Thanks, GWG, and thanks for running a rad website! Here are some of my favorite bespectacled gals, on-screen and off:

Ilana Glazer
Alicia Silverstone in True Crime
Linda Cardellini as Velma Dinkley
Lupita Nyong'o
Demi Lovato
Tina Fey as Liz Lemon in 30 Rock
Zoe Saldana
Zooey Deschanel on New Girl

Rashida Jones

Marilyn Monroe in How to Marry a Billionaire

If it weren't for the holiday decorations, you might not know that these weren't taken recently. Snow in March is not unusual in Ohio, my friends - though luckily we haven't gotten any this time around. So far, at least. Another obvious thing: we aren't in Paris anymore! Well, Cleveland has been called the Paris of Ohio...except for, you know, the actual city of Paris, Ohio.

Anyway, here are some "back to reality" photos - not a baguette or crepe in sight. But at least I get to be with ma chienne again! And to confuse you again - I'm actually on my way back to Paris right now! I'll be gone for the next two weeks so here, have some somewhat boring outfit pics in the meantime. A tout à l'heure!

Man, I'm really dragging out these posts from my trip to Europe, aren't I? Oh well! I certainly don't mind, as I'm currently sick as a dog in bed and would love to sneak back to this lovely little garden behind the cathedral. I can't believe I'm heading back to Paris in a few short weeks, too! *insert monkey with the hands over his eyes emoji*

I haven't checked the weather yet for our scheduled arrival, but I'm hoping it's at least warmer than here. I am a minority in my love for snow during the month of February (possibly has something to do with that being my birthday month...) but as soon as March 1st hits, it's spring in my book. Anyone else?

Hopefully I'll post some outfit photos that are actually from this new year soon... As soon as I can do more than sleep for 12 hours straight, that is.

Thanks for reading, friends! Happy weekend!
