...what do you all think?? Might keep it up for a while, I think I can rock it.

Obviously kidding. Having a little fun with stage makeup for my friend's short film! Whooo spooky scary.

And what's a photoshoot without a little silliness (and tinsel)?
Dress: vintage (similar, similar) / Shoes: Sole Society (similar) / Lipstick: Topshop 'Rio Rio'

Well here is true #tbt! These photos were taken by the lovely Abby at the Her Campus party that she and my friend Sarah (below) threw way back in January. I opted for this vintage dress I picked up in England last year - its nude color and bit of sparkle makes it appropriate for just about any season, I think. I don't miss the winter by any means but I do miss the abundance of sparkles that that season calls for. Spring, where are your sparkles??

new

Shoes: Steve Madden / Bee Barettes: Esty thanks to Sarah! / Necklace: J.Crew (love this one, or this)
Ring: Madewell thanks to my brother! / Bag: Kate Spade (similar, similar)

Another 'new in' post! And I told myself that I was giving up online shopping...but half of these are gifts and the other half I bought in person, so technically it's all good right? And they're all for a shifting season and blah, blah, blah I'll just admit that I'm obsessed.

Sometimes buying smaller pieces is more fun than getting a whole new outfit because you can take what you already have and it'll feel updated. Yeah? And hopefully you're saving money that way too but no promises, friends. Especially when it comes to a J.Crew sale - which they're having right now! Head on over to the site for such good deals on jewelry!

Happy shopping!

tuxedo

Coat: House of Fraser (similar) / Sequin Jacket: vintage (similar) / Top: J.Crew (love this one)
Tuxedo Joggers: Topshop / Shoes: Topshop / Bag: Vintage Chanel / Lipstick: Clinique Crimson

I've been craving jogger pants for the longest time and just when my desire was satiated (at Forever 21), they had to go and rip. Luckily things like birthdays and kind moms exist to replenish the need for jogger pants in your life. I felt that these Topshop ones warranted a little dressing up - but that's the thing that I love about this style of clothing, you can wear them as lazy pants or fancy pants. Or pants that conveniently have enough room in them when you want to go eat your weight in crepes! Maybe that last category is specific to me.

Thanks, all, for reading! Now go put on your lazy-nice pants and eat some good food.

a bit of spring

Thursday, April 2, 2015

Sweater: Topshop (here in grey or similar) | Skirt: J.Crew Factory (on sale!)
Heels: Topshop | Lipstick: MAC 'Relentlessly Red'

One word: SKIRTS. A few more words: BARE LEGS.
Can you believe it?? Ok so maybe it was a bit brisk for these pieces but I couldn't not wear my new J.Crew skirt (which is on major sale right now - go, go, go!). I've been waiting for weeks. That's like asking...I don't know, that's like asking somebody to put a new pint of Jeni's ice cream in the freezer and then not eat it for two weeks. Or something like that. I had a few friends tell me this skirt is like an optical illusion and it so is, in the best way. I love that if you twirl one way, you get navy, and if you twirl the other, a lovely pale blue. (Or do I really just like twirling?)

Anyway I hope all of you are enjoying the sunshine! Thanks for reading.
