Jacket: Forever21 / Top: Urban Outfitters (similar) / Jeans: Topshop / Shoes: Jon Josef 'Gatsby Cat'

Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing well.
A weekend ago or so I went into the "city" (meaning anything bigger than my college campus) with some friends. Inexplicably, I felt the need to get chic for a trip into the "city" where Jeni's ice cream and shopped and shopped and shopped. I tried not to go overboard, but I can get a little stir crazy style-wise when on campus and away from actual stores (though online shopping is a good fill-in). Obviously I bought absolutely nothing from this Tiffany's...my biggest purchase was on a chocolate milkshake. Wow, as I'm writing this, I'm realizing how materialistic and whiny I sound... to counteract that, I'm gonna end with this link to my favorite charity organization - donate if you are so inclined, or just take a peek around:

come back georgia, come back

Blouse: Red Clover / Jeans: American Eagle 'Sky High' / Shoes: Keds

Feeling a bit Americana in my Red Clover blouse from Savannah and bandana (thanks again, Dad!). While I certainly don't miss the hot weather (it is finally getting cold here!!! I am so excited!!!), I do miss the sights and charm of Georgia. Plus this song is too good to not share.

Gotta make an apology for the amateur photography...that would be all me and my ignorance of lighting, angles, and generally important things to know. Still figuring out my tri-pod and more than that trying to figure out how to take photos on my college campus without looking like an absolute freak... Hang in with me friends! It's a learning process.

back to class

Monday, September 15, 2014

Blouse: Target / Skirt: Nordstrom / Jacket: Levi's / Belt: J.Crew
Flats: Sole Society (sold out) / Bag: Marc Jacobs (old, here in black)

A classic black to class look for my senior year. Until recently (like two days ago) it was uncomfortably hot, so all the many, many sweaters I packed had to look at me all sad and stay in their drawer (you know it's bad when I start personifying my clothing). Since I actually packed very little warm-weather clothes and since I am going back to classes, there definitely will be a decrease in my blogging, sorry! But hopefully once I get more comfortable with my schedule and start forcing people to take my pictures (or make a better acquaintance with my new tripod), I can get back to a semi-regular posting. But until then, as always, thanks for reading!

style crush / mara sisters

Thursday, September 11, 2014

The Mara sisters have absolutely nailed down the classic-yet-cutting-edge look. It's no surprise with Rooney, who chopped her hair and got piercings for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo but even Kate adds the right tough touches with leather jackets and studs. And they can pull off any hair style in any hair color. Smart, sharp, and stylish - the Mara sisters have 'em in spades.

the british car show

Pinafore: Topshop (sold out, similar) / Blouse: Vince Camuto (similar) / Shoes: Jon Josef 'Gatsby Cat'
Hat: Thrifted (similar) / Purse: Vintage Chanel / Lipstick: Sephora 'Red Essence'

Hi everyone! A few weeks ago I finally wore my pinafore for the first time this summer (here it is from last winter). I figured the annual British Car Show would be a good time to bust it out...a nice excuse to go a little over-the-top mod! My dad and I bopped along to The Beatles as we surveyed the selection. Let's see if I can make him proud by remembering some of the models...Austin Healy (that's in the last photo above), Triumph, and MGA and yep, that's all I can remember. I just gravitate toward the pretty colors (had to get some in somewhere seeing as I was all in black and white).
